The most significant kickback and inspiration behind the main idea for the Wargaming office in Vilnius was their own product – World of Tanks game. Realistic yet imaginary world of the game was translated into the interior design concept “Real-Surreal” and realized through subtle design solutions and interactions.

Reception common area is ironically linked to the beginning of every game, which starts in the garage in the forest.

Work and collaboration areas represent the realistic part of the game, taking you on a journey through the entire game world. Different maps from the game are recreated through various non-standard lighting, flooring, ceiling and wall design elements. Each different interior material and color is a reference of some sorts, showing the abundance of in-game content and creating a working environment that the team can relate to.

A surreal part of the game is mostly depicted in the meeting areas or so-called getaways, each symbolizing not-your-usual WoT. Devoted to special events, collaborations, and modes: fun, mysterious, futuristic, retro, strategic, downright crazy, and reflected by complex multi-dimensional graphic designs.

In this project it was important to build environment around the product while avoiding militaristic references thus attempting to break stereotypes, and to celebrate the product’s legacy and the team behind it.
